Tanguy Turgis wins Omloop het Nieuwsblad U23

Right from the start, the atmosphere was very nervous. In the first hour of the race, despite the difficult course, 43 kilometres had already been covered, and the pace did not drop. At 45 kilometres from the finish line, the peloton broke up into several parts, and then a leading group of 15 riders formed just before the start of the last lap.

With only 17 kilometres to go, Verwilst and Turgis took their chance. Having a small lead that would determine who would take the victory in the ensuing sprint of the two, Turgis was just slightly stronger. With this, he succeeds Elias Van Breussegem as the winner of the Omloop het Nieuwsblad U23.
