Flanders Classics and BMW are counting down the days until Saturday, when they will join forces for the first time during Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. This alliance is not an ordinary one. BMW provides the first ever full electric car in a Flanders Classics race during Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. Next Saturday, the race director will get on the road with a BMW iX3, BMW’s newest electric SUV, in both the men and women’s race.
This season, BMW Belux is the car partner of Flanders Classics for the first time. The German car brand doesn’t let that pass by unnoticed. In December last year, Flanders Classics announced a 5-year cooperation with BMW. “At Flanders Classics we really look forward to this cooperation”, says CEO Tomas Van Den Spiegel. “It’s not only the beginning of a new cycling season and a new partnership, it’s also the start of a trajectory in which we want to increase the durability of cycling.”
